What's included in every license

Both tiers unlock the identical platform — the only difference between 5 seats and 10 seats is headcount, not features. Every licensed seat gets EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic certification-prep training, plus recertification training for providers renewing an existing certification. Students can rehearse exam day with the Full Practice Exam — a configurable 20/40/80-question exam scored server-side, with a score breakdown by content area — and look up real drug information during study time with the Drug Label Lookup, a one-drug reference that uses RxNav (NLM) and openFDA data, not a static reference list. Every seat also gets CME tracking for logging continuing-education hours, and your training officer gets an Agency Admin dashboard to see it all roll up — see Agency Training Management for what that view looks like.

How agency licensing works

NTCP licenses are sold to the agency, not to any individual provider. Your organization picks a tier, pays one annual price for the whole pool of seats, and your Agency Admin handles who's actually using them from there — there's no per-person checkout, no individual signing up on their own, and no separate invoice per student.

What counts as a seat?

A seat is a licensed slot in your agency's account, not a name permanently tied to it. Your Agency Admin creates a student account and assigns it a seat; when that person leaves, transfers, or finishes their training, the Agency Admin can unassign the seat and hand it to the next person — no repurchasing required. That pooled, reassignable model is why a 5-seat license can outlast any one individual's tenure at your agency.

Renewing your license

Both tiers run on an annual billing cycle for the full seat pool. If your roster grows past what your current tier covers, moving up — from 5 seats to 10, or contacting us for a larger custom license — is a matter of licensing more seats, not switching platforms or losing your existing setup.

Who this is for

NTCP is licensed to organizations, not individuals: fire departments, EMS services, hospital-based EMS programs, and training programs preparing their own people. If you're sizing up which tier fits your situation, the audience pages go deeper on what each looks like in practice — Fire Departments, EMS Services, Hospital-Based EMS, and Training Programs. If you're an individual EMT or paramedic looking for training on your own rather than an organization, check with your employer or program first — they may already hold an NTCP license with an open seat, which is a faster path in than waiting on a new agency signup.

What licensing doesn't include

Two things worth being upfront about before you sign up. First, NTCP does not issue or guarantee NREMT or state certification — that's the sole job of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and your state EMS office; NTCP provides certification-prep training and reference material, not the credential itself. Second, NTCP is not currently a CAPCE-accredited CE provider; the CME log included with every license begins with student-entered evidence and does not prove accredited or externally accepted credit — see CME / CE and What Is CAPCE Accreditation? for what that distinction means for your agency's compliance records. And across both tiers, the dashboards are view-only reporting today — there's no export or download feature, so plan on reviewing progress inside NTCP rather than pulling files out of it.

Pricing questions

Can I buy fewer than 5 seats, or as an individual?

No — NTCP is licensed at the agency level in these two tiers. There's no individual self-service purchase; access is always granted through your agency's license.

What happens if my agency needs more than 10 seats?

Contact us — larger departments are handled directly rather than through a fixed tier. See our Contact page.

Are seats locked to a specific person?

No — seats are pooled, not person-locked. Unassign someone who leaves and reassign their seat to someone else at any time within your license.

Do you offer refunds?

License purchases and renewals are final. See our Terms of Service for the full policy.

Does this include NREMT or state certification?

No — NTCP provides certification-prep training and reference material. NREMT/state certification is issued solely by those authorities, not NTCP.

What exactly is a "seat"?

A seat is a licensed slot in your agency's account — not a named person and not a permanent assignment. Your Agency Admin assigns a seat to a student, then can unassign and reassign it later. When someone leaves or finishes training, their seat opens back up for the next person at no extra cost.

Do the 5-seat and 10-seat tiers unlock different features?

No — both tiers include the identical platform: EMT/AEMT/Paramedic certification-prep training, recertification training, the Full Practice Exam, the Drug Label Lookup, and CME tracking. The only difference between tiers is how many seats you're licensing.

Can our agency move from 5 seats to 10 later?

Yes — sign up for the 10-seat tier once your roster outgrows 5, or contact us if you need more than 10. There's no penalty for starting smaller.

How does billing and renewal work?

Both tiers are billed as a single annual subscription for the whole pool of seats, not per person. Purchases and renewals are final — see our Terms of Service for the full policy.

Do the dashboards export or download reports?

Not currently — the Agency Admin and Student dashboards are view-only. You'll review progress and compliance inside NTCP rather than exporting files out of it.
